WDWCP Program Seasons!

  • Dec. 5th, 2008 at 11:52 AM

So as promised here is a list of the Program seasons and just some basic information that you might want to know, or need to know about when programs generally end and begin. Just realized this particular schedule is for the 2009 year, it may vary a little when you go or whatnot.

Alot of this information is out there, and it's easy to find once you get the hang of the wdwcollegeprogram.com website, but sometimes it's annoying to have to look for it, so hopefully this makes it easier! haha.'

So there are a few different types of a program that you could have, first are just the normal Spring and Fall Programs, usually spanning 5-6 months. Then there's the Spring and Fall Advantage programs, which span 8-9 months! Then there's the Spring and Fall Quarter Advantage, this depends on your schools semester set up, which usually spans 6-7 months. Lastly, there's if you're a Culinary student, in this case you have no set program dates it all depends on your school and your dates will be set upon your interview. Fall programs are always a little longer then Spring! Here's the breakdown:

*SPRING and  FALL:
~Spring: Januaryy thru mid-late May. (interviews begin in the Fall semester.)
~Fall: August thru early January. (interviews begin in Spring semester.)

*SPRING and FALL ADVANTAGE:
~Spring: January thru August. (interviews begin during Fall semester--September or October.)
~Fall: May or June thru early January. (interviews begin during the Spring semester-- January or Feburary.)

*SPRING QUARTER ADVANTAGE and FALL QUARTER ADVANTAGE:
~Spring: March thru August. (interviews in September & November.)
~Fall: June thru early January. (interviews are Feburary through April.)

*EXCEPTIONS:

~CULINARY students have to set up personalized program seasons during their interviews based on their schools system!

And So It Begins...

Okay, so I'm Stacey and this entire journal was created for basically a few different reasons; first of course being the obvious one, to document my experiences in the pursuit and hopefully actual participation in the Walt Disney World Careerstart (WDWCS), Walt Disney World College Program (WDWCP), and Walt Disney World Professional Internships (WDW PI). Second being, to keep my family and friends up to date of the things that I'll be doing once I get down there! And lastly, I want this to be a useable and hopefully helpful resource for anyone that is wanting to get involved with the WDWCP! Because believe me a few years ago when I got on this kick, it was sooo difficult to find any actual answers to the questions that weren't so obvious! But the people who are down right now have been doing a wonderful job informing, both on LJ and on YouTube. So that's basically the intro to this entire journal, haha. Now for the more specific blogging-type topic....

So, I understand the first little bits of blogs won't really be TOO Disney related because I am still in the application and interviewing processes. But I am planning on beginning a vlog with my friend Amanda who is also applying for the Spring 2010 WDWCS. So once those are up I will begin to post them here!

My goals for this blog is to follow my WDWCS, WDWCP, and after college and the WDWCP's hopefully a PI, which hopefully opens into a career offer at WDW! :D

Thank you and have a magical day! :D
